Record Investment in Road Blitz

Labor is getting on with fixing our roads with $1.04 billion blitz to rebuild and repair key routes across Victoria.

This will include key roads throughout Southern Metro, improving safety and reducing congestion for local drivers.

This builds on the Government’s prior investment in improvements to the Monash Freeway, Toorak Road, North Road, Hampton Street, Chandler Road, Johnston Street Bridge, Studley Park Road, Princes Highway East, Nepean Highway, Ferrars Street, Normanby Road and Hoddle Street.

Almost $100 million has been invested to improve bus services, helping commuters better connect with jobs, schools, and essential services across our suburbs.

As Southern Metro continues to grow, investment in reliable transport and local infrastructure is critical to keeping people connected and communities moving. These investments will help to ensure our local infrastructure keeps pace with our growing community.

The 2026/27 budget is about delivering on what matters most for Victorians – helping Victorian families with the cost of living, investing in frontline services, and delivering the infrastructure our growing community needs.
