Major Upgrades to Local Schools in 2026/27 Budget
Locally, Southern Metro schools are receiving major upgrades in the 2026/27 Budget to deliver better learning environments for students and families across our community.
These include $16.85 million for upgrades and modernisation works at Brighton Beach Primary School; $13.2 million for a new gymnasium and upgraded oval at St Kilda Primary School; $279,000 to modernise the facilities at Windsor Community Childcare Centre; $15.9 million to enhance facilities at Boroondara Park Primary School; and $434,000 for capital works at Melbourne High School.
This builds on last year’s budget investment, which resulted in funding for upgrades to Hampton Primary School, Caulfield South Primary School, and Gardenvale Primary School, where new classrooms, gyms, and learning spaces are being built.
Free TAFE continues to help Victorians train for the jobs our community will need as it grows into the future.
Holmesglen TAFE’s Moorabbin campus will become the base for a new Home and Community Care TAFE Centre of Excellence.
This year’s Budget invests in giving local students access to high-quality education with modern facilities close to home, from early-learning through to skills and training.
