Delivering Faster Surgeries and Specialist Appointments in the 2026/27 Budget

Access to quality healthcare and support services remains essential for families across Southern Metro, with continuing investment to strengthen frontline services and community support.

Funding has been provided to hire more nurses, deliver faster surgery and specialist appointments for children, and continue Victoria’s life-saving pill testing service.

The Budget also expands support for vulnerable Victorians through increased legal assistance, family violence services, and continued investment in homelessness outreach services across Southern Metro helping connect people experiencing homelessness with housing and critical support services.

The 2026/27 budget is about delivering on what matters most for Victorians – helping Victorian families with the cost of living, investing in frontline services, and delivering the infrastructure our growing community needs.
