Work begins on a new Hampton Pier

Construction has begun on the new Hampton Pier, with locals to be able to enjoy a new space in Sandringham Harbour later this year.

The new pier will be built with a design reflecting community and stakeholder aspirations, providing a safe and accessible community facility for people to enjoy.

It will feature:

-          A 24-metre floating pontoon for recreational users of Sandringham Harbour

-          Timber decking on the pier, keeping with the aesthetic appeal of the previous pier

-          Ladders to access tenders from the pier approach and a safety ladder on the pontoon for better water access

Rebuilding the pier is set to improve visitors' access to Sandringham Harbour for walking, fishing, and boating, and I can’t wait to visit once it is completed later this year.
