Upgrades to patient care at Moorabbin and Sandringham hospitals

The Labor state government has invested in upgrades to Sandringham and Moorabbin hospitals, making it easier for locals across the inner south east to get the care they need, closer to home.

Sandringham Hospital
The upgrade of Sandringham Hospital's outpatient facility is now completed.

This major upgrade has supported hard working health care workers at Sandringham Hospital to increase their capacity for specialist medical, nursing and allied health care - helping reduce patient wait times for outpatient care.

New waiting areas and disability access features have made seeking care more comfortable and welcoming for all, with the upgrades featuring modern building design, access pathways, and better service infrastructure for patients.

As part of the $5.62 million upgrade, there are new facilities tailored more to providing care to children and educational facilities for staff.

We have a simple mantra: better health infrastructure means better healthcare for our local community!

Moorabbin Hospital
Upgrades to operating theatre suites ensure world-class surgical care continues to be provided to patients at Moorabbin Hospital.

The operating theatre refurbishment is delivering a safer surgical environment for patients and staff, ensuring our hard-working health professionals can continue to deliver high-quality surgical care while helping to reduce surgical wait times for patients.

The $4.3 million project also delivered important infection control and prevention measures for day ward surgical theatre operating suites, replacing surfaces and adding critical barrier protection and automating doorways.
