Free public transport for Under 18s and Seniors now in effect
On January 1, public transport became free for all children under 18, across Victoria.
Per child, this will save a family $755 - the cost of a Youth Myki card.
It's just one way families can keep a little bit extra in their pockets to spend on the things that matter most.
Seniors can also take advantage of free public transport on weekends. This is another initiative that's been in place since January 1, 2026.
So, whether it's visiting grandchildren, getting to appointments or seeing all our state has to offer - seniors can do it for free each and every weekend.
