20% Off Rego and Half-Price Public Transport to Ease-Cost of Living Pressures
Victorians can claim 20% off car registration this financial year, thanks to a cost-saving initiative from the Victorian Labor government.
The scheme could save households up to $186 for a single-car and up to $372 for two cars. The 20% rebate can be accessed through the Services Victoria app from June 1.
In another move to ease the cost of travel, the Labor government has extended free public transport until the end of May, to be followed by half-price fares for the rest of 2026.
It means the average commuter could save more than $1,300.
And don’t forget, the government has already announced free PT for under-18s and free weekend travel for seniors.
